Led Display Basics

LED display is a flat panel display, composed of multiple small LED module panels, used to display text, images, video, video signals and other various information equipment.

It is mainly used for outdoor indoor advertising, display, play, performance background and other purposes. Commonly installed in commercial areas, building facades, traffic roadside, public squares, indoor stage, conference rooms, studios, banquet halls, command centers and other places, play a role in display.

Ⅰ. the working principle of LED display

The basic working principle of LED display is dynamic scanning. Dynamic scanning is divided into line scanning and column scanning two ways, commonly used way is line scanning. Line scanning is divided into 8 line scanning and 16 line scanning.

In the line scanning mode of operation, each piece of LED dot matrix piece has a set of column drive circuit, column drive circuit must have a latch or shift register, used to lock the content to be displayed in the word mode data. In the line scanning mode of operation, the same row of LED dot-matrix piece of the same name line control pins are connected in parallel on a line, a total of 8 lines, and finally connected to a line drive circuit; line drive circuit must have a latch or shift register, used to lock the line scanning signal.

LED display column drive circuit and line drive circuit are generally used microcontroller control, commonly used microcontroller is MCS51 series. LED display content is generally stored in the form of word mode in the microcontroller's external data memory, the word mode is an 8-bit binary number.

7, What is luminous brightness?

LED display unit area issued by the light intensity, the unit is CD / square meter, simply put is a square meter display issued by the light intensity;

8, what is the brightness of the LED display?

LED display brightness refers to the normal operation of the display, the display unit area of luminous intensity, the unit is cd / m2 (i.e., how many cd's of luminous intensity per square meter of the area of the display.

11, What is gray level?

The gray level of LED display is an indicator that reflects the image level of the display. The gray level of the video screen is generally divided into 64 levels, 128 levels, 256 levels, 512 levels, 1024 levels, 2048 levels, 4096 levels and so on. The higher the grayscale level, the clearer the image level, the general grayscale level of 256 or more, the image difference is not very big.

12, what is a dual-color, pseudo-color, full-color display?
